How do students share their My Plan portfolio?

Any information students save to their My Plan portfolio can be shared with parents or family members through the Parent Portal. Students can also share their plans by sending an invite link. Both sharing options can be activated or deactivated in the Career Advisor Management System (CAMS). To edit these settings, please see Parent and Guest Access settings.

To send a Parent Portal link to a parent or family member, students will need to send them a registration code and invitation to join. This task must be completed one email address at a time; however, multiple invitations to parents or family members can be sent.

To send the Parent Portal invite from a student account:

  1. Log into Career Cruising.
  2. From the main page, click My Plan.
  3. From the top menu, click Share My Plan.
  4. On the Share My Plan page, click the Invite Parent/Guardian link.
  5. Enter the Parent/Guardian Email Address and click Send. Students will receive a notification with the message Your invitation has been sent.
  6. The parent will receive an invitation email with an Activation Code, which they can then use to create their account on the Career Cruising Parent Portal. The parent/guardian information will be available for Advisors to view and send messages to within CAMS. Students can check messages from their parents/guardians from the Share My Plan page by clicking View Parent/Guardian Comments.


Students also have the option to send a Guest View Invitation, which is an access link that works on a temporary basis.This action does not provide Parent Portal access.

To send Guest View Invitation from a student account:

  1. Log in to Career Cruising.
  2. From the main page, click My Plan.
  3. From the top menu, click Share My Plan.
  4. On the Share My Plan page, click Invite Others to View My Plan.
  5. Complete the form with all required details: Name of Individual, Email Address, Date (until which invitation will remain active), Message, and the specific My Plan Section to Include.
  6. Click Send at the bottom of the page. Students will receive a pop-up notification with the message Your invitation has been sent.
  7. The guest will receive an email notification with a URL and password. Guests can log in and leave messages for students until the specified end date in the invitation. Students can check on their Guest views and comments from the Share My Plan page by clicking Guest Views of My Plan.
